"After ten years of exhibiting my work, I am gradually heading into a more conceptual approach to my paintings. Leaning more toward abstraction, yet not losing the subject completely. Applying the paint in a free manner, having more fun creating new form and color combinations, and just letting ideas flow more easily. As I progress with this loosening up process, I hope the observer will sense a more relaxed and contemplative quality to the work."
| Sterling EdwardsWednesday, September 1 - Wednesday, Sept 29, 2010 Reception: Wednesday, September 1, 6 - 8 pm Solo exhibition: "Expressive Interpretations From Nature."
"Having run the gauntlet from photo realism to impressionistic and abstract painting, and having matured as an artist, I now devote the majority of my artistic energy to presenting the viewer with an artistic interpretation of my thoughts and visions rather than a visual record of details. Bold shapes and colors, expressive brush strokes, and the viewers own imagination combine to present a unique statement. Taking shapes and colors from our natural world provides endless opportunities for the abstract artist."
